With undisturbed views of the Coral Sea and Cape York Coastline, The Temple is located on the top of Aylen Hill in the historical town of Portland Roads.
Portland Roads is 800kms north of Cairns and on the east coast of the Cape York Peninsula and is recognised for its Gold Rush Days and World War 2. Portland Roads is a fishing village with around 12 residents and neighbours with the world recognised IRON RANGE NATIONAL PARK. The famous Chilli Beach is located 10 mins away via boat or car.
Driving to Cape York is an epic, bucket list adventure but only achievable in the DRY SEASON when roads are open. We are located about a 10 hour drive north of cairns. If time is of no issue… take your time and stop at the incredible camp spots and iconic landmarks along the way. Roads are sealed in sections. Take the PDR Turnoff to LOCKHART RIVER and follow signs to PORTLAND ROADS.
Skytrans Airline flys direct from Cairns- Lockhart River. Airport is located 40 mins by car. Airport Pick Up/Drop Off can be arranged. During the wet season this is the most reliable way to get in and out.
